We are a fellowship of doctors of modern medicine who are of Indian origin and residing in Kuwait. We are affiliated to the Kuwait Medical Association and all our community activities are with its approval and wholehearted support. Our current membership is about 600 doctors who represent over 95% of the Indian Doctors residing in Kuwait.
Indian doctors have been working in Kuwait for a long time and have been involved in the free service of the community around them in their individual capacities. This fellowship with the mission to serve the community in a more organized and better way and to improve the interaction between the doctor families was born out of the initiative taken by Dr. George Verghese and likeminded doctors. Credit goes to the vision, dynamism and hard work of the founder president Dr. Narayanan Nampoory, very ably assisted by Dr. Amir Ahmed, the General Secretary and his committee for making Indian Doctors Forum Kuwait one of the most community focused Indian Doctors body anywhere. This is the first Indian Doctors fellowship abroad that regularly brings out health information books for the benefit of the community in very simple language, systematically covering the various health issues. This concept of health awareness was conceived by Dr. Noble Zachariah who was editor of the first book along with Dr. Ramesh Pandita. These books have been acclaimed by people all over the world and the soft copies are available on our web site for the benefit of all. The other notable community activities are the numerous free health screening and consultation camps in co-operation with the various Indian social organizations and associations, ‘Meet the specialist’ seminars for the public on various health issues, school health programs for the Indian School children and a facility ‘ Ask the doctor’. Any one from anywhere in the world may ask a health related query which will be answered by our specialist doctors. Some of our doctors have also volunteered to help the patients with quick appointments when needed, in addition to answering their queries by e-mail. Dr. Jaganath Chodankar was the first website moderator and made this web site so popular and informative for the members and the public.
All members give their selfless services to this fellowship and the community and we acknowledge and are grateful to their praiseworthy services which have made Indian Doctors Forum the foremost in serving the community around us.
